Terri Hamm is the owner of Kindred Stories, a bookstore coming soon to Third Ward, Houston, TX. Through creating Kindred Stories, Terri hopes to create a community-centered hub where the works of Black authors and artisans are celebrated. This venture was inspired by Terri's daughter Elle, who is an avid reader craving for a space in Houston to explore the vast array of works written by Black voices.
Terri is a graduate of the illustrious Howard University and began teaching in New Orleans shortly after leaving Washington, DC. As her family grew, and following a move to Houston and then to Singapore, Terri became a stay-at-home mom for eight years where she committed herself to volunteering in various capacities at her kids' schools and in the community. She is passionate about creating spaces for the celebration of Black culture. Terri is also a huge Black beauty brand supporter and prides herself in using a fully Black-owned beauty routine.
